The Shazbotdom Imperial Parliament oversees all law making throughout the Shazbotdom Empire. The laws created by the Imperial Parliament are applicable and enforced within the Shazbotdom Mainland but also the Colonies. The Imperial Parliament motto of Patriam Fecisti Diversis De Gentibus Unam was picked in the form of an online poll in which more than 7 Billion votes were cast. The Seal of the Shazbotdom Imperial Parliament was also picked via an online vote too in which more than 9 Billion votes were cast to pick the Official Seal (picture on the right is clickable) was picked out of 5 possible candidates. The Imperial Parliament is made up of two Houses, the House of Commons and the House of the Senate. Members of each house are picked on the regional level during the Elections.

The Make-Up

The Parliament of the Shazbotdom Empire is the bicameral legislature of the imperial government of Shazbotdomconsisting of two houses: the Senate and the House of Commons. The Parliament meets in the Capitol in Shaz City, Shazbotdom. Both senators and representatives are chosen through direct election, though vacancies in the Senate may be filled by a Regional Governor appointment. Members are affiliated to one of 10 Political Parties within the Empire. Parliament has 825 voting members: 750 Representatives and 75 Senators.

The members of the House of Commons serve two-year terms representing the people of a single constituency, known as a "district". Parliamentary districts are apportioned by population using Census Results from the Ministry of the Interior, provided that each district has at least one congressional representative. Each district, regardless of population or size, is allotted one senator. Currently, there are 75 senators representing the people of the Empire. Each senator is elected at-large in his or her district for a six-year term.

The Elections

The Elections of the Shazbotdom Empire are not as complex as it was originally intended to be when the Original Parliamentary System was put into place. Currently, Members of both houses of the Parliament are elected through a Direct Democracy system, where each vote is inputted into electronic ballot boxes. Those votes are then transmitted via a secure internet connection to a mainframe located within Shaz City, where they are tallied and the candidate with a simple majority of the votes within their district at the end of the election day is deemed the winner of the Election. The same is done for the position of the Prime Ministers of each Colony as well as the Prime Minister of the Empire.

The House of Commons

Considered the lower house within the Imperial Parliament, the House of Commons is the primary place where laws are drafted within Shazbotdom. As the laws are drafted within the House of Commons, they originate within Committee chambers of where the law would do the most work. Each Committee relates to the specific Minister within the cabinet of the Supreme Emperor. Be it the Interior, Foreign Affairs, Military/Armed Forces, or the other Committees. After a prospective law is passed through the Committee, it is then brought before the entirety of the House of Commons to be discussed and debated. After a prospective law passes through the main chambers, it is then sent to the House of the Senate for further debate and editing.

The House of the Senate

Considered the Upper house within the Imperial Parliament, the House of the Senate is made up of those within the Parliament who have more advanced degrees in Law and Law Research. It is first introduced into the Senate within the Committee Chambers of where it's area of effect will be, the same as it's counter part within the House of Commons. After passing through the Committee Chambers, it is then brought before the primary portion of the Senate, where it is once again, debated and edited. After it passes through the Senate, it is then presented before the Prime Minister of the Empire and the Supreme Emperor for final passing and singing into law.
