South Auroran Federation

The South Auroran Federation was a union of the nation-states Xagrurg and Kostoria-Obertonia. The SAF lasted from 1908 to 1927. The South Auroran Federation was created in 1908 as a result of the governments of Xagrurg and Kostoria-Obertonia wishing to unite against their common historical enemy, the Ethalrian Empire. Before 1926, the federation was going pretty well, with people content, healthy, and educated and the economy prospering. The South Auroran Federation dissoluted in 1927 due to rising nationalism in the former nation-states' lands and the South Auroran Federation Assembly dissoluted the union.
Backstory of the South Auroran Federation
The Republic of Xagrurg and Kostoria-Obertonia have always been historical allies since 1150 as Xagrurg attacked Ethalria and Kostorian-Obertorian rebels supported Xagrurgian troops. The alliance was further cemented when the Republic of Xagrurg liberated Kostoria-Obertonia from Ethalrian occupation in 1775. With the Ethalrian Empire becoming resurgent once again in the 1900's, Kostoria-Obertonia and Xagrurg united in order to deter the foreign threat.
Government
The South Auroran Federation had three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial.
- Legislative:
The legislative duties of the South Auroran Federation was done by the South Auroran Federation Assembly and the Senate. The SAFA was comprised of 400 seats. Citizens from the South Auroran Federation elected their representives to the South Auroran Federation Assembly. The Senate was comprised of 200 seats. Citizens from the South Auroran Federation also elected their senators to the Senate.
- Executive:
The executive branch was commanded by the Prime Minister, Vice President, Secretary of State, Foriegn Affairs Minister and the Prime Minister's his/her cabinet. The Prime Minister is elected every 4 years by South Auroran Federation citizens. A Prime Minister can only have 2 terms in office. A term is 4 years. The Prime Minister has the ability to approve or veto a legislative bill if there is a deadlock in the SAFA or Senate.
- Judicial:
The laws of the South Auroran Federation was enforced by the Department of Justice.
