The Southeast Pacific Coalition, or SEPC, was an organization made up of several member nations. The military arm was demarcated as the SEPCF, or South East Pacific Coalition Forces. While the founding nations' goal was originally to simply unify a military effort against the controversial and also-defunct Fire Pact Alliance, the alliance quickly grew, with many more members and efforts that went far beyond the original goal, this stray from the initial initiative ultimately resulting in its dissolution.

History

Creation

The Fire Pact was believed to be expanding, militarizing, and threatening any who oppose them with chemical weapons and state-sponsored terrorists. This organization was formed to safeguard against that, and it's major programs were to:

  1. Develop a peaceful sentinel station in orbit to deter enemy military operations in orbit of Urth.
  2. Uphold peace and order and promote the laws of The East Pacific and its leadership.
  3. To foster peace and prosperity not only between the nations of the Coalition, but to all of Urth.

And so, Emberwood Coast, Setzna, and Stratarin founded the SEPC, and Myriad Station was rennovated as the aforementioned peaceful sentinel station.

The Four Days' War

Since one of the reasons the SEPC was founded was due to the existence of the FPA, the SEPC naturally opposed the FPA, and relations tensed until the SEPCF blockaded Celannica, the founding nation of the FPA. Celannica tried to resist the blockade, leading to the Four Days' War in December 2016.

Celannica managed to hold their own in the south, though they didn't break through the SEPCF blockade. Meanwhile in the north, Asendavian forces were battling Tretridian forces. Celannica launched the Eternal Wrath, an armed space station. In response to the armament of space, Tretrid struck the station with an EMP, which lead to the deaths of all aboard. The furious Celannican leadership had the Eternal Wrath destroy Myriad Station, and the resulting debris lead to Kessler syndrome, an issue that remains to the present day.

Neutral nations, furious over the loss of expensive sattelites, forced peace talks to ensue, and all beligerents had agreed to a peace and reparations deal by January 2017.

Growth

After the Four Days War, relations between the FPA and SEPC started to improve slightly, as it was believed that miscommunication was the primary cause of the Four Days' War. While the FPA didn't focus very much on recruitment, the SEPC grew until it became one of the most infulential alliances on Urth. The grip the SEPC and FPA held on a large portion of the world loosened, and soon enough the two international organizations had both disbanded.

Dissolution

In late May 2017, Xagrurg was couped and became the Greater Xagrurgian Empire (GXE). In response, Lambertus VII of Staynes called a meeting of his allies (many of whom were in the SEPC) and declared war. Since the Premier of Stratarin at the time, Viktor Drugov, was away in Staynes, Rurik Lukin was ruling in his abscense, until he was assasinated. Mikhail Starikov became Premier, and dropped Stratarin's allegiance to the Allies. The SEPC reacted poorly to this.

Since many nations in the Coalition were allied, like Staynes, Tuvaltastan, and The Atlae Isles, and some leaned towards Axis, like Stratarin, the SEPC split, and its influence collapsed in the first days of June 2017.

The institution, a shell of itself after the Auroran-Pacific War, was considered no longer in exsistence by many, but the last straw came when Stratarin offically withdrew from the SEPC in early September 2017.

Legacy

The SEPC has caused ripples that last to this day. The cloud of debris created by Kessler Syndrome in the Four Days' War is still in space, and is expected to cause major difficulty to the SpaceLab, along with other exploration efforts. Diplomatic relations between Asendavia and Tretrid, though indifferent before the Four Days' War, were cold ever since.

Its rapid decline also left a trace on Urth's history. Tretrid, The Atlae Isles, and Mexregiona, seeing the writing on the war, formed the Atlantian Alliance, which was a geopolitical union other than a military alliance.

Exceptions

  • Although the United States of Mexregiona had relations and likenesses with other members of the SEPC, it is still debated whether or not the nation had ever been officially conjoined into the organization. For instance, although Mexregiona played a hefty role in the overall plot of the Four Days War of The East Pacific, the state took no part in the warfare of Gondwana Bay. It is to be noted, however, that the USM took part in the operation of the Myriad Station, although the project was cut short due to the station's early, unplanned destruction.
