Afforess

Afforess (and its successor Shadow Afforess) was a nation notable primarily for creating the popular browser extension for NationStates, NationStates Plus Plus (NS++). However, Afforess was also known as a controversial member of the NS community, being twice deleted for offenses on the NS forum: Afforess, for posting past a ban in November 2013, and Shadow Afforess for allegedly threatening to hack a region's password in July 2014.

Other actions by this nation had raised hackles in the past; for instance, their using the NS++ browser extension to campaign for a repeal of the GA resolution Rights and Duties of WA States,^[1] and thereafter authoring a proposal to "Liberate" the region of Haven. When another member of the Security Council retaliated with a liberation of Afforess' home region, Capitalist Paradise, Afforess announced a new tool to crack regional passwords, vowing that Haven's would be the first one cracked -- and that was all she wrote.

Afforess announced their departure from NationStates soon after that, claiming that the game would be officially acquiring the NS++ extension.^[2]
