It lies west of the Khalif-Kaprilan Plateau and southeast of the Mimzanamarus Mountains. The plains covers parts of the provinces of Alamanta, Along Kahlif, Garbanavto, Hirnapade, Hizutpamarok, Iuvnana, Nokadima, Ririnetta, Seneskda, Vanasyolok, Yapadia, and Yigera. The Centranian people, known for their nomadic livestock herding, is native to the area. The plains is also known for supporting intensive ranching and farming.

Etymology

The word sentrani (Hazamaeian Cyrillic: сэнтрани, Fihanta transliteration: séntrani) in the Hazam language means land beyond the center with the toponym suffix of -ni and sentran means people beyond the center (Centranian people), refers to the location of the plains being further than the central part of the Anotamaeia (around Kaprilan) as seen from Hasnuni.

Not to much was known about the plains before the first bicentury of Rahernw. The Centranian people is known native to the area and mainly live their life as nomadic herder. However, earliest settlement dated back to the 2nd bicentury with the discovery of human skeletons, cemetery, and ancient dwellings east of Garbanavto. Other settlements began to sprawl across the plains mainly near the Sijstorimdya River including the city of Seneskda. The Sijstorimdya River Valley already known for its support for agriculture and water needs to the Centranians. At the time of the Tales of Traders, the city-state of Alamanta was already built which was regarded as a center of trade between the northwest Anotamaeia and the central Anotamaeia. The settlement of the city area continued to grow up through several major historic events including the Great War of All and Yurukman War.

Following the invention of electricity and turbine engines, the plains was then used as major wind farm since the reign of the Republic of Anotachia. Some were built inlcuding the Llta Naechia Wind Farm and the biggest onshore wind farm in Hazamaeia, Proper Alamanta. Both are still in use today and owned by the Ministry of Telecommunication and Infrastructure.

Geography

Average elevation in the Centrania Plains ranges from 500 to 1200 m asl. The highest point is the Mount Infrumfvina at 3,990 m asl. The plains actually occupies the region of a plateau, formed by structural folding with denudational factors resulting in many hills and eroded landscape. Several rivers and lakes are located in the plains, most notably the Sijstorimdya River the longest river in Hazamaeia. Other body of water such as Lake Palmiara and Kisanduria Reservoir are popular tourist destinations.

The barren landscape in the Centrania Plains is formed by the lack of rainfall that happen throughout the year. Compared to other landscape in Hazamaeia, the plains only receives as much as 500 mm of rainfall a year. However the number could be higher for places with higher elevation. The wind that flow through the region do not favor the clouds to stop on the plains, with many flow to east to Khalif-Kaprilan or west to Mimzanamarus. Few tall and broadleaf plant could grow on such condition that the most vegetation covering is grass. As such, settlements across the plains including several cities such as Alamanta and Seneskda mostly built near rivers, reservoirs, or lakes to supply their water needs.

Demography

The Centranian people is the native people of the Centrania Plains. They speak several dialects of the Centranian language, the biggest one is Alamanta dialect. Like most of Hazamaeians, Islam is the predominant religion among the Centranians with about 94% identify themselves as Muslims at the 2010 census. Traditional Centranians are highly nomadic people herding their livestock across the plains. They mainly live in their portable homes called urye that can be folded and loaded to their horses.

Settlements ranging from small villages to big cities are also present in the region. City of Alamanta, with over 200,000 inhabitants is the most populated followed by Seneskda with over 100,000. They are the 6th and 10th most populated city in Hazamaeia, respectively. Seneskda is located along the middle part of the Sijstroimdya River while Alamanta has its water suppied by Kisanduria Reservoir and V'arliteia River. Other big settlements include several province capital such as Yigera, Garbanavto, and Iuvnana.

Transportation

Centrania Plains is traversed by several national road structure and railways. AZZH rail network routes are passing through the plains such as the Naech-Alamanta-Yapadia route and Naech-Garbanavto-Vanasholok. There are also several airports located in the plains including Alamanta Kar in Alamanta, Sanrevan in Seneskda, Sauprudunya in Milaven County (Garbanavto), and Koperaviana Ulemri Airport in Iuvnana. NL 210, 331, 241, and 402 routes are among the biggest national roads in the plains and mostly already paved compared to other smaller routes. The road network across the plains is a popular tourist destination with many buses offfering such tour comprising up to 3 days exploring the plains.

Wind farm

Many wind farm is built in the Centrania Plains. Due to its barrenness, turbines can harness more powerful wind since vegetation cover is very low and the wind has lesser obstacle to accelerate. The biggest wind farm in Hazamaeia, Proper Alamanta Wind Farm is located in the plains and can generate up to 500 GWh of electricity. Other examples include Llta Naechia, Invrimnaya, Proleratsiya, and Vindemnaya wind farms. In total, there are about 19 separate wind farms across the plains.

Populated places

Cities that located in the plains mostly have low population number excluding Alamanta and Senskda as historic trade hubs. Provincial capital cities such as Garbanavto even only inhabited by about 15,000 people in the 2010 census. Low populatioon figures is caused by the traditional nomadic life of the native Centranian people. Outside lakes, reservoirs, and rivers, villages and hamlets are built sparsely so many lands are completely uninhabited barren wilderness.

Agriculture

Although has a relatively low rainfall, some regions of the plains are known to be able to support rather intensive ranching and farming. The area along rivers such as along Sijstorimdya, Uerkavur, and Girduyumnia Rivers have adequate water irrigation for relatively large wheat, maize, and rice farms. Permanent ranching is also present around water resources. Several dams and reservoirs were also built by the government to support more agriculture in the plains and to generate electricity. Agriculture becomes so importatnt even in a region such as Centrania since it is the main source of Hazamaeian gross domestic product.

Biota and environment

The Centraina Plains is home to the Sa-Centrania Traditional Reserve (Hazam: Сасэнтраниа Ниӽпязй Ривмиҥлиа) that protects the culture and nomad tradition of the native Centranian people as well as the wildlife and nature in Centrania. It covers most of the plains including cities that located inside of it. Hazamaeian government initiate a multi-provincial federal institution that manages the reserve and the needs between plains provinces called Centrani Spanning Agency (Hazam: Сэнтрани Фималда Диният).

Animals that inhabit the plains including wild foxes, Kirla deer, puffins (coastal area), wild horses, and Ufortkhian seaguls. Two protected species live on the plains which are the Centranian dirt hare and mondays wolf.

Environmental issues in the plains, particularly drought, have risen up for last couple years since the agricultural expansion is efforted by the federal government. Dams and hydroelectric power plant that harnessing river discharges have been known to cause some water depletion and flood in lower areas. Environmental organizations including the World Wide Fund for Nature have emphasized the issue to the Hazamaeian government particularly after the findings of animals and birds died in thirst with the decreasing water in the river.
