The Groups of Economic Activities (経済活動団, Keizai Katsudō-dan, abbreviated GoEA) is a Werric term designating a set of enterprises, of various fields, maintaining among them crossed participations. Before 2077, keiretsu was mentioned, but the latter were dismantled during the Werric economic stagnation, since their legal form was no longer adapted to the economic context of great international economic competition.

History

The current Groups of Economic Activities appeared during the Werric economic stagnation in the 2060s. They are the result of far-reaching reforms to the legal status of keiretsu and numerous mergers and acquisitions aimed at strengthening the economic activities of Werreales Werreales.

Description

The Groups of Economic Activities are conglomerates made up of a multitude of diverse companies, generally linked by financial ties woven from a bank. This bank has significant control over those companies, acting as a supervisory entity and a short-term lender. These groups have trading companies called Sōgō Shōsha (総合商社), which prospect the world markets. GoEAs rely on networks of very dynamic subcontracting and sometimes family SMEs.

The GoEAs traditionally practice group recruitment of new graduates.

List of GoEAs

Dynamic and powerful GoEAs like Shingai, Arai and Takeda form the backbone of the Werric economy. Those three conglomerates produce 50% of GNP in Werreales.
