The Sunlight Song Contest is an Annual music event which is intended to showcase National Music Talent. It was Preceded by the SønneLåt Lide Alpaisne, which was an annual music competition between Syrche, The Dåtsche Republic, Lithany, Greater Providence, and New Matteis from 1984-2012.

In 2017 the decision was made to create a new song contest in Syrche that would emulate the prior SønneLåt Lide Alpaisne. Sunlight Song Contest was the solution. It's voting scale was massively simplified, and it is heavily reliant on international juries, which is somewhat different from prior iterations, which interacted only among competing nations.
The newly reborn contest sparked a lot of interest. A wide array of talented musicians submitted entries, and they were whittled down to five who would compete before the nation.
Out of this came Nilsen, Syrche's WorldVision Song Contest 65 Entrant, who came 19th. Nilsen were the clear favorite, at home and around the world. The New Modern were favored as well in Syrche, and have since been recording an album.
