The SS-35 Nyä-Sjömallämissil (New Sea Target Missile) is a sea-skimming surface-to-surface and anti-ship missile developed by Sverd Industries and produced and exported by The United Federation of Prizyetsa. Later variants were also developed for land-based surface-to-surface operations. The latest variant of the missile can be fired from a launch tube, a verticle launch system (VLS) or from the weapons bay of an aircraft. The SS-35 is designated Surface to Surface missile, mark 35.

Development

Development on the SS-35 began in the early 2020's as a successor to a wide range of surface-to-surface missile types in service with the Prizyetsi Navy. Extra emphasis was placed on the missile's accuracy and survivabilty. For this reason, it was decided to abandon the idea of the top-down approach method in favor of the sea-skim approach, making the missile harder to detect and track. In order for this to be successful, research into advanced missile guidance systems and maneuvering systems had to be done. Once these main obstacles had been conquered, the design of the missile proceeded without any notable issues.

First live-fire tests occurred at the Prizyetsi Navy's test range at Salksbruä. A total of ten targets were acquired and fired on, all of which were hit. All fired missiles performed as intended.

Design and Features

The SS-35 missile system is driven by a two-stage propulsion system. The missile is first launched from its tube by a solid-fuel booster rocket. Once the missile is launched, a turbojet kicks in to propel the missile to its target.
