Etymology

Tivot comes from the ancient word "tivo," which originates from the dead language of the ancient Kostuvians. "Tivo" translates to "fun" in Codexian, and "Vn" (Pronounced Vun) in Kostuvian.

History

Departure from Kostuvastan

After The Auroran Imperial War, the Tivot people saw that the empire was weakened militarily, and as such took advantage of a few legal loopholes to become their own country. They were established on January 24th, 1976. Since then, Tivot has become a booming city-state. Interestingly, Tivot is also the largest city-state in the world by land area, and the area surrounding Tarov is very diverse, with large mountains to the south, an extremely steep volcanic mountain on one of its islands, a very deep ravine on the northernmost island, as well as a truly immense cliff in the northern part of the Tivot mainland. Due to this diversity, most of Tivot has been designated as a nature reserve, except for Tarov and surrounding areas.

Beginnings of Tivot

Unlike its war-torn counterparts, Tivot has not been in a war since The Auroran Imperial War. Due to this, it was able to advance in technology quicker than the rest of former Kostuvastan, advancing beyond the need for livestock (see Agriculture and Livestock).

Modern-Day Tivot

Tivot is a major shipping and trade hub, and makes the majority of its wealth from tourism, exports, and its numerous coastal ports within Tarov, which have a relatively low tax.
