The Ursus Sapiens is a group of anthropomorphic humanoids with many recognizable bear-like features and characteristics. Smaller than their primitive counterparts, Ursines have generally the same fur colors, with brown, black, and white fur making up the majority. Their bodies consist of a larger brain capable of sapient thought, unlike their primitive counterpart. The typical Ursine body is rather bulky and muscular, a result of their ancestry. Many Ursines inhabit Asendavia, where they are a minority, and other Northeastern Yasterian nations, where they are also minorities. The Ursine race is generally slow and strong on land, with the species typically maintaining a thick layer of fat and a dense layer of fur. In aquatic enviroments, the Ursine body is rather slow, but powerful, meaning that while they may not be fast swimmers, they can endure long swims. Both genders are generally much larger than the average Human, with male Ursines maintaining an average height of around 7'2" and weighing in on average at 450 pounds, while female Ursines maintain an average height of around 6'10" and weigh in at around 390 pounds. The senses of an Ursine are, for the most part, superior to humans, with the exception being sight, which in daylight is generally a bit poorer than an average human's, but at night, is generally better than a human's.
