Fortuna (ˈfôrCHunə) also known as The Federation of The Three States of Fortuna is a dictatorship run nation descended from one of the great missing nations. It consists of a population of 120 million based off the census of 2064. It is an averagely developed nation with the second largest economy in the Five Star Alliance.
Much history of Fortuna has been forgotten but it is known that it has risen from a great nation which was destroyed during the Great Southern War. It was much later when after it no longer existed, three countries were formed on its ashes; Albiet, Margovia, and Oserate. It was years later with the help of Commander Timothy Lyon that the three countries were united once again under one flag and created a new nation known as Fortuna. From then on Fortuna has been building its military force and has some of the most influence in the Five Star Alliance (FSA). At the beginning of Fortuna, they joined the region The East Pacific (TEP) and holds little influence there. It also has a chair in the World Assembly (WA) and has participated in the passing of some recent legislations.
History
Assumptions
The history of Fortuna has been vague ever since The Great Southern War, but many historians have come to believe that it is a descendant of an old Italian colony that was influenced heavily by the long gone American Empire. The reason for this is that the language of Fortunans consists of dialects found in old Italian and American writings. Common first and last names point to being Italian but some consist of old American names.
The Great Southern War
The Great Southern War was a conflict that consisted of the continent of Europe and Antarctic. This war has also been known to be called World War III due to the catastrophic damage dealt to the war after it. The war started when a large abundance of oil was found in Antarctic where many thought there would never be. Many nations started making claims that the oil belonged to them and brought much tension to the world. Then the American Empire placed troops upon Antarctic which brought an uproar from everyone. Alliances were slowly forming with the group called the Allied Alliance backing up the American Empire and the Regional Alliance against it. When the troops were not removed from the area, war was declared between the alliances. Much of the war was fought on Antarctic but some was fought on Europe due to revolts taking place. These revolts especially hurt the Allied Alliance and led to the win of the Regional Alliance. Of course the revolts effected the Regional Alliance so the too pulled their troops from Antarctic after 15 years of fighting. Order to the world would not be restored until 20 years later after many new countries were able to settle in. These new countries also included Albiet, Margovia, and Oserate who shared the same island.
Unity and Creation of Fortuna
Much unrest still laid between Albiet, Margovia, and Oserate for all the countries believed they had the right to the whole island. This led to many small wars and skirmishes between them. This soon angered many of the citizens of the countries who grew tired of the feud. But the want of a united nation was still wanted by everyone. One group sought to achieve this by uniting all three countries under a new country. The group was known as 'Fortune' and was led by the young general who went by the name Commander Timothy Lyon. Unity was finally achieved when a successful coup in all three nations crippled them long enough for 'Fortune' troops to march in and declare their rule. Finally seeing a united nation, much of the citizens rejoiced for this takeover and little to no resistance was given with many soldiers of the three countries joining the 'Fortune' troops. Commander Lyon then named himself the ruler of the new nation declaring that his rule was absolute. Many politicians found this rather odd and somewhat pushed, but they still followed Lyon. to this day The Federation of The Three States of Fortuna is run by the absolute ruler or dictator Commander Lyon.
