The Vanorian Football Pyramid is the league system in which football clubs from the commonwealth of Valanora play in. The Pyramid consists of six levels with one hundred twenty-eight teams in total, with all teams from every level of the pyramid also playing in the Silver Cup, the nation's association cup. Unfortunately due to a fire in the VSC headquarters, only the records from season 20,018 and onward are known.

Premiership

The Elven Premiership is the top tier in the pyramid and the most prestigious league in all of Valanora. In it's modern incantation, it incorporates the islands of Capri and Vyinta as well as the mainland of Valanora. Before the last reformation of the league pyramid, Vyinta's clubs played in their own separate league and were awarded provisional place in a UICA competition if they won the according playoff(s).

The Premiership was formed after the clubs of the former Elven First Division left the league en masse and formed their own league. With the choice of joining the league or having no one to play with, Gladerial United was forced to join, the club whose success and monopoly over the league had forced the clubs actions. At the time of its forming, the Premiership was the top tier of a three tier, thirty-two team pyramid, that has since grown into the pyramid's size today.

The champion of the Premiership is awarded a spot into the Champions' Cup, as are the runner up currently. In previous years, the third and even fourth placed teams were awarded a spot, but the league is no longer in that category of the coefficients. As a result, the third and fourth placed team earn a spot in the Globe Cup as does the fifth if the first through fourth teams are the champions of the Silver Cup, otherwise the champion of the Silver Cup earns the last Globe Cup berth. The bottom three teams at the end of league play are relegated to the Star League, although they are awarded generous relegation parachutes to enable their potential return the following season. The champion of the Premiership is also awarded a spot in the AOCL.

Star League

The Star League is the second tier in the pyramid and the tier that most inside Valanora call the most competitive and entertaining. The champions and runners up of the league are both reward with automatic promotion in the the Premiership, while the third and fourth placed teams play a home and home playoff with the third place team hosting the second leg. Due to the competitive nature of the tier, teams relegated from the Premiership often find themselves bogged down in the tier for many seasons before their return while clubs promoted to it are often the same clubs relegated the following season. A prime example of this would be Gladerial United, who at one point was relegated to the third tier and has been stuck in the Star League for the majority of the time since the Premiership and new league structure was formed in 19,998. The Star League is the only other league besides the Premiership that has remained the same name since the formation of the new pyramid.

Lower Leagues

The Division leagues, or the four lower tiers, of the pyramid are the least prestigious of the tiers in the pyramid. Leagues Three and Four were originally created as tiers for teams for developing players, while League Two was a semiprofessional league, and League Three was the previous Green League where the semipros transitioned into professional clubs and footballers. Unlike the Premiership and Star league, none of the Division leagues are broadcast internationally, while only League One is broadcast domestically at a national level. Like the Star League, the champions and runners up receive automatic promotions to the next tier while the next to contend in a promotion playoff, while the bottom three are relegated to the lower tier, except in League Four, the bottom of tier of the pyramid.

Cups

Silver Cup

The Silver Cup is the nations association cup and the longest running competition in all of Valanora. The reward for winning the Cup, along with a large monetary purse, is a Globe Cup berth unless the winning team is already qualified for an international competition, as well as a spot in the Cygnus Cup aka the Cup Winners Cup. The tournament's semifinal and final stages are played at neutral venues where the rest of the rounds are hosted by the home team in the draw.

Navy Cup

The Navy Cup is a defunct competition that was a cup comprised purely of teams of the Premiership. It was discarded and its records expunged after the clubs in the Premiership complained of fixture congestion and the lower leagues complained about the unfair nature of additional reward money for clubs already at the top of the pyramid. During its time, Raynor City United and Hondo FC were the most victorious teams, with one or the other usually winning the tournament.
