World Bowl XVIIwas the 18th championship for American Football. Michael VII won the host bid over Qazox. Allamunnic States made World Bowl history by becoming the first team to successfully defend their title, defeating Bluth Corporation in the final. All games of the tournement were played in Michael VII at various locales within the nation.
Group Stage
The 60 participants were placed into 10 groups of six teams each and played a double-round robin format. All games were 'must-win' games, played with college overtime rules. The top 2 teams in each group advanced to the playoffs for a total of 20 teams. The bottom 8 records played in the wild card round, while the other 12 recieved a first round bye.
