Wilhelm Gerhard Werner Lindenau (born 16 September 1895) is a Rotgeheiman Unterscharführer (Corporal) in the Verteidigungsstaffel. He is best known for his actions during the Invasion of Scheinfeld, for which he received the highest military honor in Rotgeheim, the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
During an engagement with enemy forces during the first days of the Invasion of Scheinfeld, Lindenau's column came under intense small arms and anti-tank fire. His vehicle suffered a direct hit from a large-caliber anti-tank gun, killing and wounding several soldiers within.
