The Oasaes presidential election of 2012, held on Tuesday, November 4, 2012, was the the 16th quadrennial presidential election. This election was special because it followed the two-term presidency of George C. Hamilton, who was impeached along with his Vice President, Joseph Kissinger. The impeachment was due to findings in an investigation of voter fraud and election rigging by the Republican president-elect and vice president. In this 2012 election, Voters selected presidential electors who in turn will elected a new president and vice president through the Electoral College. The term limit established in the Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents the incumbent President, Barack Obama, of the Democratic Party, from being elected to a third term. The series of presidential primary elections and caucuses took place between February 1 and June 14, 2016, staggered among the five administrative districts and the Crown dependencies.

The Cardiff-Steagall Act 2012
The Cardiff-Steagall Act of 2012 barred all parties whose candidates did not meet the Party's nomination requirement from entering the election. This legislation was overturned by the Supreme Court case 'Cardiff v. Election Commission' for infringing on the 'Right to Run for Office' once a candidate meets the constitutional requirements. However, the act was legitimate during the time period which it was effective. As a result of the Cardiff-Steagall Act, almost all third party candidates could not enter the 2012 Presidential race.
