The opening ceremony held at Holmes Stadium featured sophisticated lighting and holography, with performances highlighting the search for peace and the diversity of Paripana. The Olympic cauldron was lit by Ham Son-lib, Olympic champion in the marathon at the Querzakhi Olympics.

Kennyite diver Pete Wence was pictured attempting to eat his bronze medal following the presentation ceremony for the men's 10m platform. In the demonstration events, Fr. Sweeney of Newmanistan was the surprise winner in summer vigil fasting, an event originally proposed by the Monastic Olympic Committee.
