The New Alteran Empire is a small region, sparsely populated by only 9 nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of The New Alteran Empire eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Political freedoms are extended only to close friends and relatives of the leaders of the region's governments. Economies in the region tend to be stronger than average. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 75%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 43% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.
In The New Alteran Empire, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Criminality is rife within the region, with law enforcement struggling to cope. Governments allocate a meagre 2%, on average, of their budgets to law and order. Denizens have well-funded defense forces.
