The Forest

The Forest is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of The Forest eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The almost total lack of economic activity in the country is a constant sore spot for politicians. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 94%, or more! The region is a socialist utopia: private enterprise is strictly prohibited in the constituent economies. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.

Education is a priority for governments throughout The Forest, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Nations within the region are forced to use soft fruit and harsh language in the field of battle, with no government funds being set aside for defense. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 4% of total government budgets.

Throughout The Forest, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 10% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 3% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 8% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within The Forest. Environments within the region are very good, with a healthy balance of denizen's activity and regard for protection of nature.
