Western Atlantic

Western Atlantic is a medium-sized region, with a thriving community of 23 nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Western Atlantic eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. Denizens suffer under an enormous tax burden throughout the region, with a median tax rate of 58%, and much higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 31% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 5% of public expenditure.

Education is a priority for governments throughout Western Atlantic, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 3% of total government budgets.

Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Western Atlantic. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 4% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is a major priority of governments in the region, with a relatively high average of 3% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Western Atlantic. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
