Slavia

Slavia is a medium-sized region, with a thriving community of 45 nations. Slavia features a very respectable representation in the World Assembly, with 45 member nations.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Slavia eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The economy of the region is remarkably unremarkable, with members being neither powerhouses nor basket cases. The median tax rate of the region is 34%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 47% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.

In Slavia, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.

The administration departments of Slavia are all-consuming, soaking up budgets in aid of supporting a bureaucracy of millions, with an average of 18% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 3% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 6% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Slavia. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
