Neo Otaku Utopia

Neo Otaku Utopia is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation and only one World Assembly Member.

Throughout Neo Otaku Utopia civil rights are held dearly by all. Denizens are flush with political freedom, although competing opinions often mean that political gridlock is the norm. It’s the economy, stupid... and in this region, it’s massive. Denizens suffer under an enormous tax burden throughout the region, with a median tax rate of 54%, and much higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 18% of the economy comprising the public sector. National governments within the region are more concerned with corporate welfare than the welfare of ordinary citizens, with commerce budgets accounting for an average of 31% of public expenditure.

Neo Otaku Utopia values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region is a lawless wasteland, nations regularly being the subject of documentaries by brave filmmakers. Governments make no provision for law and order. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 6% of total government budgets.

Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Neo Otaku Utopia. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 4% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

In Neo Otaku Utopia, denizens benefit from a good balance of social equality and motivation for advancement, although aspiration is the priority. The region's landscapes are reasonably good, although the impact of the denizens has had a noticeable effect.
