The New Alteran Empire is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only one World Assembly Member.
In The New Alteran Empire, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 89%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 22% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 6% of public expenditure.
The New Alteran Empire values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is an overarching priority for governments within the region. One might suggest they are compensating for something. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 2% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.
Governments in The New Alteran Empire communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 2% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments bestow their healthcare departments with a gargantuan amount of funding, with an average of 11% of government budgets across the region being heaped on to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
