NSTracker Astyrian Probation |
Astyrian Probation is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations and only one World Assembly Member.
Throughout Astyrian Probation, traditions are kept strictly throughout the region, punishing upstarts and rabble-rousers harshly. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. The economy of the region is remarkably unremarkable, with members being neither powerhouses nor basket cases. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 11%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 10% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is low priority for governments, accounting for an average of 2% of public expenditure, although commerce is generally seen as a source of tax revenue.
Denizens of the Astyrian Probation are poorly educated, with rampant illiteracy. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Denizens have well-funded defense forces. Public transport is an afterthought, with only -1% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.
Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Astyrian Probation. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only -1% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Astyrian Probation. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
