The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 38% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.
Antarctic values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections.
