Technologica is a small region, sparsely populated by only 8 nations and only 3 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Technologica eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 76%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 49% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 7% of public expenditure.
In Technologica, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 2% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.
