3eme Empire is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of 3eme Empire eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Denizens suffer under an enormous tax burden throughout the region, with a median tax rate of 70%, and much higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 47% of the economy comprising the private sector. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 13% of public expenditure.
In 3eme Empire, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 5% of total government budgets.
Throughout 3eme Empire, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 10% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 9% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within 3eme Empire. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
