Eran is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only one World Assembly Member.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Eran eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Denizens are flush with political freedom, although competing opinions often mean that political gridlock is the norm. Underwater basket weaving is a popular tradition amongst the denizens of the region, as well as its primary economic export. The median tax rate of the region is 43%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 43% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.
Eran values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. There is a very high level of crime within the region and law enforcement resources are stretched thin. Nations within the region are forced to use soft fruit and harsh language in the field of battle, with no government funds being set aside for defense. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.
Throughout Eran, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 8% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 6% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Governments in the region have a pathological fixation on welfare, with welfare budgets soaking up huge amounts of government expenditure. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 6% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.
In Eran, denizens benefit from a good balance of social equality and motivation for advancement, although aspiration is the priority. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
