2025

2025 is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation.

In 2025, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 10%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be dominated by the private sector, with on average only 6% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a major priority of national governments within the region, most of whom are trading nations, as is evidenced by the fact that commerce budgets account for an average of 26% of public expenditure in the region.

2025 values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region is a lawless wasteland, nations regularly being the subject of documentaries by brave filmmakers. Governments make no provision for law and order. Denizens have well-funded defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 10% of total government budgets.

Nobody really knows about the state of administration in 2025. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Governments are pathological about caring for the health of their citizens, with vast sums being ploughed into hospitals, doctors and medical research No welfare is provided in the region. Those unlucky enough to fall into unemployment are forgotten and abandoned. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Throughout 2025, denizens enjoy great equality, although sometimes wonder why they bother working at all. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
