In The Pacific Northwest, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Nations in the region are healthy democracies, with denizens being afforded an extensive array of political freedoms. The economy of the region is remarkably unremarkable, with members being neither powerhouses nor basket cases. The median tax rate of the region is 26%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 33% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 4% of public expenditure.
Education is a priority for governments throughout The Pacific Northwest, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. The region is a lawless wasteland, nations regularly being the subject of documentaries by brave filmmakers. Governments make no provision for law and order.
