Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations and only one World Assembly Member.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Hong Kong eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 18%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 17% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a major priority of national governments within the region, most of whom are trading nations, as is evidenced by the fact that commerce budgets account for an average of 22% of public expenditure in the region.

In Hong Kong, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. There is a very high level of crime within the region and law enforcement resources are stretched thin. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 3% of total government budgets.

Governments in Hong Kong communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 7% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Hospital patients are given credit checks upon passing through emergency rooms, as no government provision is made for healthcare in the region. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Hong Kong. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
