Brasil

Brasil is a medium-sized region, with a thriving community of 47 nations and only 18 World Assembly Members.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Brasil eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. The median tax rate of the region is 49%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 31% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 7% of public expenditure.

In Brasil, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is an overarching priority for governments within the region. One might suggest they are compensating for something. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 2% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.

Governments in Brasil find themselves in a constant state of disarray, with very little co-ordination, only 1% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 5% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Brasil. The environments of the nations in the region are almost universally appalling.
