Redonda is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations.
Throughout Redonda, traditions are kept strictly throughout the region, punishing upstarts and rabble-rousers harshly. Political freedom does not exist. The region is recognized as an extreme dictatorship. Most denizens subsist off of basic farming or menial factory jobs, with few economic imports or exports. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 20%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 49% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.
Education is a priority for governments throughout Redonda, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. There is a very high level of crime within the region and law enforcement resources are stretched thin. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.
Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Redonda. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Governments bestow their healthcare departments with a gargantuan amount of funding, with an average of 15% of government budgets across the region being heaped on to healthcare. Governments in the region have a pathological fixation on welfare, with welfare budgets soaking up huge amounts of government expenditure. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
In Redonda, Social inequality is total, with wealth being held by a tiny fraction of the region's populace. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
