Syria

Syria is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations and only one World Assembly Member.

Throughout Syria, traditions are kept strictly throughout the region, punishing upstarts and rabble-rousers harshly. Political freedoms are extended only to close friends and relatives of the leaders of the region's governments. The economy of the region is remarkably unremarkable, with members being neither powerhouses nor basket cases. The median tax rate of the region is 41%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region are perfectly balanced between public and private sectors, with both comprising 50% of economic activity within the nations. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.

Denizens of the Syria are poorly educated, with rampant illiteracy. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.

Throughout Syria, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 11% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Hospital patients are given credit checks upon passing through emergency rooms, as no government provision is made for healthcare in the region. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments within the region are fixated with religious worship, with nations having an inordinately high average of 14% of total government funds devoted to it.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Syria. The environments of the nations in the region are almost universally appalling.
