The 2014 Mauwul Riots (December 11th - December 20th, 2014) began after the murder of a Narsoran Native man, 24-year old Goyathlay Aputsiaq by a gang of Narsoran Spanish men.

Background

On December 11, 2014 24-year old Goyathlay Aputsiaq was beaten to death by a group of four men following an altercation in which the four men (of Narsoran Spanish ethnicity) made racial remarks to Aputsiaq as he was walking by, reported as being "bastardo endogámica marrón" (eng.brown inbred bastard). Aputsiaq then confronted the men and demanded to know what was said, the men continued harassing him then began beating him by (according to witnesses) kicking, punching, stomping on him and slamming his head into the pavement. A mob of angry natives then surrounded the men and beat them to death as well, as bystanders attempted to stop the violence they to were attacked and accused of "Jātyahaṅkāra uṇḍaṭaṁ" (eng. being racist). The rioting and looting of (mostly) spanish owned businesses began. Mauwul is a Narsoran-Native Majority neighborhood of the city of Manzulo.
