The Autelian Royal Family is the family of the Monarch of Autelia.

A distinction is made in the Netherlands between the royal family and the Royal House.

The royal family includes people born into the family (and legally recognised as such) or who have married into the family. However, not every member of the royal family is a member of the Royal House.

By Act of Parliament, the members of the Royal House are:

  • the monarch (King or Queen);
  • the former monarch (on abdication);
  • the members of the royal family in the line of succession to the throne who are not further removed to the monarch than the second degree of consanguinity;
  • the spouses of the above.

Members of the Royal House can lose their membership and designation as prince or princess of Autelia if they marry without the consent of the Autelian Parliament. This is written down explicitly in the part of the constitution of Autelia that controls the Monarchy of Autelia.

Queen Marie The Queen Mother

Marie (Marie Franziska Olga Christiana; born October 3, 1968) is the Queen dowager of Autelia, the widow of King Henri IV.

Born Princess Marie of Schaumburg-Lippe to Prince Ernst of Schaumburg-Lippe and Princess Helena of Greece and Denmark, she married Prince Henri of Autelia in 1986, having met at social functions. The couple were married for 29 years and had four children together: Elisabeth, Désirée, Joseph and Amélie.

The Queen Mother resides at her home near Lafontaine with her youngest daughter, Princess Amélie.

Princess Amélie

Amélie (Amélie Cécile Lucie Aurélie; born March 1, 2000) is the youngest daughter of King Henri IV and Queen Marie of Autelia.

Amélie lives with her mother at Château Nougard near Lafontaine, and plans to study German and Spanish at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. To celebrate her 18th Birthday on March 1, 2018, Elisabeth gave Amélie the title of Princess Royal, a title usually reserved for the eldest daughter of the monarch, or an abdicated queen regnant. As the queen's daughters are twins, she decided not to give either of them the title of Princess Royal, and they will instead receive a dukedom upon their marriages.

Princess Désirée

Désirée (Désirée Adélaïde Victoire Cathérine; born April 13, 1992) is the second child of Henri IV and Queen Marie of Autelia. Désirée was offered the title of Princess Royal on her eighteenth birthday in 2010, however she declined it.

She attended university in Sweden, where she met her husband, Prince Marius Bernadotte (b. 1991). They married in 2017, and their son Prince Axel was born in 2018. The family live in Stockholm and Lafontaine.

The Duke and Duchess of Thiers

Princess Cécile, Duchess of Thiers (Cécile Amandine Aurélie Hélène; born June 9, 1965) is the only daughter of Queen Emma of Autelia and Alexandre, Prince Consort.

Prince Antoine, Duke of Thiers (born Antoine Maxime de Margaux; 9 December 1954) is the husband of Princess Cécile of Autelia.

Cécile and Antoine were married in 1985, and Queen Emma passed an unusual royal decree, wherein Antoine would be given the titles Prince of Autelia and Duke of Thiers, and the style of Royal Highness, so the couple's children could become princes or princesses. Cécile also lost the title of Princess Royal upon her marriage, which she had been given in 1983. The couple had two sons: Maxence (b. 1985), and Philippe (b. 1994).

The Duke and Duchess of Vaugeois

Prince Guillaume, Duke of Vaugeois (Guillaume Louis Laurent André; born April 18, 1968) is the youngest child of Queen Emma of Autelia and Alexandre, Prince Consort.

Princess Renée, Duchess of Vaugeois (born Renée Marine de Courtenay; February 5, 1968) is the wife of Prince Guillaume of Autelia.

Guillaume and Renée were married in 1989, and have three children: Caroline (b. 1990), Alexandre (b. 1993) and Isabelle (b. 1994).
