Bureau of Imperial Manufactories and Works

The Bureau of Imperial Manufactories and Works is division of the Imperial Court in Diadochia. The Bureau oversees all Imperial manufactorys, factories, works, etc, that is all manufactories that were specifically founded or created to cater to the needs of the Imperial Court. The Bureau is also responsible for all building works at the Emperor's residences in and around Atlantis.

History

The Bureau of Imperial Manufactories and Works was created by Demetrius VII of Diadochia to coordinate the building works at his imperial residences in 1571. During the 1500s and 1600s the name was the Bureau of Imperial Building Works. In the 17th century, the responsibilities of the Bureau extended beyond pure building works, to include the manufacture of tapestries, porcelain, glass, textiles, silk, etc.

Responsibilities

The Bureau is responsible for:

  • works of construction and maintenance of the main imperial residences owned by the Crown, and their parks and gardens
  • the designing and building of royal public works
  • production of tapestries, textiles, silk, glass, porcelain at imperial manufactories.
