The Christian Independence War was a conflict that began when the Christian States declared independence from the United States. Though promising a peaceful, diplomatic approach, the US quickly launch an offensive into Virginia, in an attempt to take full control of Arlington County. The UCS had, however, already granted executive officials safe passage through Arlington County, as it was the location of the Pentagon(Now the National Independence Memorial). The offensive cost 3,000 civilians their lives, along with 650 American Servicemen, 430 Christian States' Servicemen, and 269 Virginia National Guardsmen. The Battle of Arlington County was won by the Christian States.
The year and a half long war inflicted hundreds of thousands of casualties on both sides. The US lost the most servicemen, but the UCS lost the most civilians, due to their nation being the battleground in nearly all engagements.
The Christian States won its freedom officially on November 7th, 2013. The two nations retained strained, but functional, relations until the US' final dissolution.
