Nominee gatesville

Condemn gatesville was the first resolution introduced under the mandate of the WA Security Council. It failed by a vote margin of 69% to 31%. Proposed by Omigodtheykilledkenny, it sought to malign the region of Gatesville (now Gatesville Inc) for its historic attempts to defy the World Assembly (and the United Nations before it). Despite being introduced during the stormy controversy over "C&Cs" and their "breaking the fourth wall" in the WA, Condemn gatesville was actually written from an in-universe standpoint, and earned many critics for that very reason. Other opponents argued that the grounds for condemnation were too weak, that it omitted other, non-WA-related offenses by gatesville, and that its satirical elements supposedly made a mockery of the World Assembly. It should also be noted that violet, whose implementation of the Security Council had been harshly criticized by Omigodtheykilledkenny and others, made a point of posting in the official debate topic, to gloat over the condemnation's failing.[1] Ironically, most of the public proponents of the first SC resolution were in fact critics of C&Cs, seeing as they enjoyed the roleplay and satire and wished to honor the author, who had resigned from the WA to protest the SC and violet's attempts to marginalize its detractors.
