Conservative Party (New Rosario)

English Name: Conservative Party Leader: Julian Palau Established: 1881 Ideology: Conservativism, Economic Liberalism Political Position: Right Wing Bloc: National Bloc Description The Conservative Party has traditionally been considered one of the major right wing parties in Nuevo Rosario. The party is strongly Catholic, anti-Communist and in favour of Economic Laissez Faire Economics. Traditionally an antagonist to the Liberal Party, the party has found more common ground with the Liberals due to their shared opposition to Socialism and the threat of Communism as well as a belief in free market economics. None the less the party differs strongly from the Liberal Party on social issues, due to its strong Christian values stance and anti Secularism policy. As well as this, the two parties differ on their stance on Social Programs, with the Liberal party being much more supportive of government spending on institutions such as Health Care and Welfare, while the Conservatives take a 'Small Government' approach. Despite all this, the Conservative party supported the coup by the Liberal Party against the People's Intergity Party and considers cooperation with the party a lesser of evil to Socialist control of the country.
