Filindostan Football Festival

The Filindostan Football Festival is an annual football event held in the city of San Marco, Filindostan. It is the de facto football league of the nation before the Filindostan Football League (FFL) will be established in year 90003. It is always hotly contested by two of the most dominant clubs in Filindostani football - Fortunas and Venividicci. Previous records show that Fortunas have won the festival twelve of the sixteen occasions, while Venividicci have won three. The other edition - the first one, was abandoned when troops of then-General Dorigo Dutete attacked the city in the year 89984.

Format

In the previous years of the FFF, the format was a single round-robin format with the top two teams facing each other at the final. The matches were always held at the Kabishawan Islandic Stadium (capacity 21,763), and any matches between Fortunas and Venividicci were always a full house. For the past sixteen editions, the two teams almost always faced each other in the finals, leaving other clubs such as Fipocor and Perseuna in the dust. The only time the two did not face each other in the final was when Fortunas refused to participate in the 11th edition as they protested the events of the previous edition. Venividicci won that edition facing Persedos in the Final.
