The Fortunan Armed Forces is the armed forces of Fortuna, and consists of the Fortunan Army, Navy, and Air Force. The Regulatori is also considered a part of the Fortunan Armed Forces and acts as the police force within the nation and may participate in military combat if found necessary. These four forces combined make up the majority of the military in Fortuna, and consist of around 578,175 active personnel and 1,520,000 in reserve or fit for combat, making Fortuna one of Urth's most militarized states. Fortuna requires for its citizens to serve in the military starting at the age of 18, with both men and women required to serve up to 36 months. The Fortuna Military Council, led by the current Chief Commander, heads the Fortunan Armed Forces. The Fortunan Armed Forces military budget consists of 5.2% of Fortuna's national GDP, around $26.14 billion. Even with the high spending, Fortuna's armed forces is still considered outdated and lacks behind other nations. Much of the equipment used by the Fortunan Armed Forces were inherited from the former three states of Fortuna, however the government has been working to update the military to fit with today's standard.

History
Military Service
Under Fortunan law, it is mandatory for citizens to serve a specific amount of time in the military. Once a citizen reaches the age of 18, they are required to enter service in one of the four branches. On special occasions, some citizens can get pass jumping into military service after reaching the age of 18, but they are required to serve within one of the government's departments. To be able to skip military service they must have the highest scores within their class or receive a pass from a respected government official. This has rarely taken place as it is looked down upon to not serve in the military. Most citizens who have skipped the mandatory military service later joined to finish the required time in service. Every citizen disregarding gender, species, and beliefs are required to serve. The time of service is equal for both men and women, requiring for citizens to serve 36 months.
Command Structure
As the head of state for Fortuna, Tristano Lyone has full control over the armed forces as Commander-in-Chief. He is given the title High Commander and has held this position ever since taking power. Under him is the Military High Command, led by Chief Commander Ferdinand Romano and which oversees all military activity. The Military High Command branches off into three separate commands which oversee a specific branch in the military. This includes Ground Forces Command, Naval Forces Command, and Air Forces Command. The Regulatori is run separate of the main armed forces, so the Military High Command has no control over them.

Ground Forces
The Fortunan Ground Forces serves as both Fortuna's ground defense and law enforcement. The number of active ground forces is around 375,000 at all times.
The Fortunan Navy is Fortuna's main priority as it is the first line of defense and protection of international shipping lanes. The navy currently has the strength of 20,167 active personnel and operates 94 vessels: 4 amphibious transport docks, 28 destroyers, 24 frigates, 6 submarines, 3 landing ships, 5 minesweepers, and a varied fleet of auxiliary ships. To protect and regulate Fortuna's waters and coast line, the Navy operates 3 offshore patrol vessels and 5 coastal patrol boats who mostly operate separate of the main fleet. Commanding over the Fortunan Navy is the position of Chief Maritime Commander, currently held by Battista Lisone.
Air Forces
The Fortunan Air Force is Fortuna's aerial branch and controls a majority of military aircraft.
Until recent years, Fortuna always lacked behind the rest of Urth when it came to the designing and building of military aircraft. This can be blamed on both the nation's geographic size combined with internal conflict. Fortuna for the most part relied on outside resources for aircraft such as the Veridian Union where a majority of Fortuna's combat aircraft originated from.
The Air Force falls under the command of the Air Forces High Command headed by the Head Marshal with command located outside of Imperial Fortuna City. The Air Force usually see little to no action with their most recent operation taking place during the annexation of the Medium Islands. Under the Air Force, there are currently 50,337 active personnel.
Regulatori
The Regulatori is the fourth branch of the Fortunan Armed Forces, but rarely serves in military operations. The main role of the Regulatori is to act as the law enforcement for Fortuna and personal guards of government officials. Of 2016, they have a have 102,504 active personnel.
