In 1993 he married Baroness Marie Theodora d'Ipswatten. They have eight children: Karl (born 1995), Elise (born 1997), Amanda (born 1998), Annunciata (born 2000), Markus (born 2002), Antonius (born 2005), Marie Helene (born 2007) and Maria Gratia (born 2012).
