George II (born July 11, 1941) is the Grand Duke of the Federal Union of Weselton and he ascended the throne upon the death of his father, Fredrick IX on March 11, 1990. George II is the first Grand Duke of Weselton to preside only over the Federal Union, his father having originally presided over both the Grand Duchy of Weselton and oversaw its federation into the Federal Union.

He grew up during World War II and was schooled abroad in the Federation of Rizealand. He is an avid marksman and horse racer as well as a philanthropist. He also prides himself in championing peace and was involved in several diplomatic missions before his ascension to the throne.

Childhood and Education

Prince George II was born in Tolin, Weselton, while his parents were touring the country and he was baptized in the royal chapel at the Royal Palace in Weselton by Bishop Johanne Lunde on August 3, 1941. When he was born, the position of the Grand Duke of Weselton was only over the Duchy of Weselton, excluding the rest of modern-day Weselton. As a little child, George II faced turmoltous times and spent many a day in bomb shelters as the Tomanian Reich was trying to expand its borders.

Despite these brief interruptions, George II was given a thorough and proper education by specially trained school masters and tutors and he attended the seminary to get his studies in theology completed. When he was of age, he was sent abroad to college in the Federation of Rizealand where he received a bachelors and a masters in economics and political studies. He also became an avid marksman and horseback rider, even trying out a bit of professional racing.

Adult Life

By the time George returned to Weselton, the landscape had greatly changed as a new federal union had been erected with his father as the much weakened head of state. He served primarily as an ambassador for his father, attending many different state functions and also helping with diplomatic missions abroad. Back in Weselton, he also met a commoner, Matilda Schubert who was the daughter of a very wealthy businessman in Weselton and they married soon after.

He also founded a horse racing foundation and helped tried to spark numerous failed peace initiatives for the African region. He also worked to improve trade relations with Weselton's neighbors and even had the oppurtunity to head a mission to Caucasian Rus, a mission that resulted in an open borders treaty between the two nations. In 1990, his father suffered a stroke and died, resulting in George II being crowned Grand Duke of Weselton. Since his coronation, he has taken a more passive stance as required by law, but he has been a constant advocate for peace and cooperation, especially in light of the recent violence and war. He has taken part and still takes part in many different charitable groups and trust funds.
