The Great Generational Martial Arts Tournament is held to determine the greatest martial artist in the world. The winner receives the title "Greatest martial artist under the heavens". The tournament is held after the holder of the title dies. However even if someone wins the title, that person may loose it if they are defeated in single combat.

Rules and characteristics

There are no specific rules to the tournament, but fighters are expected to fight one on one fairly without external influence. Within this format participants are allowed to use any means to win once the fight begins, however it is considered extremely impolite to kill your opponent.

The tournament was held in three stages: The Qualifiers, The Battle Royal and The Bracket. In order to enter the tournament every potential participant had to pass a qualifier test administered by the temple monks. Once the qualifiers were completed the participants rested. The next day contestants were divided into four groups who fought in a battle royal until there were only four fighters left. The contestants were then given three days of rest before the bracket fights. The bracket fighters contained many famous fighters from the island like Wolves members Lexam "The Great Wolf" Reconlaf and Zestia "The Beautiful Blade" Kodolf.
