The Impeachment of Robert Gaines was scheduled to occur on 22 July 2019, the impeachment effort to remove the President was halted by the interruption of the session of the House of Commons. The first stage, the House Vote to Suspend was then delayed by eight days, to the 1 August 2019. On 22 July 2019, at 11am, the House of Commons was prepared and set to conduct a full vote on proceeding Articles of Impeachment to the Senate and suspending the President from office. President Robert Gaines arrived on Parliament Island, surrendered his military Imperium at 10.54 and entered the Senate Chamber. At 10.59, exactly, The Usher of the Blackrod interrupted the House to demand their attendance to the Senate at once. Conventions sided with the President and the vote was delayed until the chamber could reach the President. The President then dissolved the House of Commons and declared that the population needed the chance to vote on a new House. Without providing justification, the President fulfilled one of his constitutional roles at the time and declared an election. The following day, the High Court ruled that the writs for an election were issued and they'd need to be followed. Three days later, the High Court ruled that the dissolution of the Senate would not be legal, further consultation on 29 July 2019 declared that the House of Commons must conclude unfinished business in the time allowed.

On 1 August 2019, the final item on the docket, at 5.30pm, the House of Commons voted 627-2 to impeach the President. Robert Gaines left office at 6pm and President of the Senate, Angela Hoffman took office as Acting President. Thirty days later, the Senate validated the House's claims to impeachment and Angela Hoffman became the 72nd President of Sarenium. Robert Gaines became the first President to be impeached and two days later committed suicide before a trial could begin. On 1 September 2019, President Hoffman repealed and recalled the writs for the 2019 election declared by President Gaines, the High Court ruled that it was allowed given that the preceding President's actions were within Reversion Clause limits (The Reversion Clause enabled the President to revert a predecessor's election given the election date is 14 full days from the date of reversion.)
