The International Standards Institute (IIS) is an institution composed of representants of different national standardization organizations. Its role is to produce a uniform system that facilitates the production of goods and services, exchanges between countries and their communication. IIS standards apply to the design of goods and services, transport and communication infrastructure, industrial processes, health regulations and more. This institution is under the direction of the Regional Ministry of Economics. The IIS is located in the international district of the metropolis of Tokyo.
