Ionian-Attic School

The Ionian-Attic School of painting was a art movement in Diadochia lasting from the mid 17th century to the mid 19th century. The school was based in Elláda, the most heavily greek region of the empire.

Artistic styles

It was durring the time of the Ionian-Attic School that Diadochian artists became increasingly more influenced by western artistc styles including baroque and rococo. During this time the use of Western realism became prominent. In this time oil painting on canvas largely replaced egg tempera on panel. The artists of this era depicted landscapes, people, still lifes, class, professions and other scenes, which replaced religious art has the most common art in Diadochia.
