Jhessan Spaulding (b. May 12, 1983) is the Empress of The Palentine.
Formally acknowledged as Imperial Heir in May 2006, during the reign of her father Captain Spaulding, Jhessan subsequently accepted a call to assume a co-regency role within the empire, which the emperor announced would commence within six month's time. The coronation of Jhessan as Co-Empress took place at St Rufus' Cathedral in Dahntahn 'Burgh on November 1, 2006. Somewhere along the line, the "co-" part of Jhessan's title vanished, which was just as well, since Captain Spaulding mysteriously vanished in 2014.
In 2011, Jhessan elected to take advantage of a controversial new "test-tube" fertility service, resulting in the birth of her twin heirs, Sebastian and Cassandra, in October of that year. However, Jhessan's mother repeatedly insisted that the young imperials have a father figure to look up to, so in 2017, the empress invited foreign dignitaries to compete for her hand at the Imperial Court. The contest is ongoing.
