Johannes, Duke von Kerlich (1937-2010) was the son of Duke Ludwig von Kerlich and Princess Iris of Brasland.

After graduating from Rottendorf College, he served in the Kerlich Guards and later studied Engineering at the Karlinian University, in Halvan.

In 1968 he married Silvia von Ledonitz, daughter of the renowned scientist Arthur von Ledonitz (future Baron von Ledonitz). They had five children: Margarita (born 1970; married to Count Rudolf von Henslen), Gottfried (born 1971), Isabelle (born and died 1973), Gabrielle (born 1976) and Ludwig (born 1980).

Johannes became the CEO of the Kerlich Group in 1972. The holding is one of the largest in Brasland, making the Kerlichs the richest noble family of the realm.

During the republican regime several of the family's properties and assets were confiscated. Johannes was briefly imprisoned in 2002, but released after a few weeks. He resigned from his position in 2004 in favor of his eldest son.

He died in 2010.
