Count Joseph von Alinghi (1920-2011) was a Braslander businessman.

In 1948 he married Baroness Anita d'Ipswatten. They had eight children: Michael (born 1950), Antonia (born 1951), Marie Gabrielle (born 1953), Philipp (born 1955), Lorenza (born 1957), Nikolaus (born 1958), Nora (born 1963) and Pius (1964-1969).

He was the heir of an enormous fortune, which he increased considerably with the help of his brother-in-law, Maximilian von Ledonitz. He created a family office called Porta di Mare to manage his business interests. The Count was also a large landowner and a famous horse breeder. He owned one of the main stud farms in Brasland.

He and his wife led a very active social life in Markund and were great supporters of museums and artists. The Alinghi Fund provides supports to new artists who need financial resources to continue their projects and to talented students who want to study Art.

He died in 2011.
